NEWS
One more time, the importance of HAKOM's local service and local vehicles has been proved, luckily, the human life was not endangered
ZAGREB, May 13, 2019 – Following the invitation of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Services (HGSS), the experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) participated in two actions in order to identify radio frequency detectors, usually activated in the event of an accident. On Saturday, May 11th, HGSS Station Makarska informs the Centre 112, located above Kotišina in Makarska emiting the first SOS signal. In the first place, the first team consisted of Makarska Station. After exploring with a drone, a part of members went the field. In the team rescuer from Split Station joined them. As it was a radio broadcasting device, HAKOM was also called to help. Within a short period of time, with HAKOM's experts, vehicles and equipment, the SOS signal source was located and it was established that happily this was a human neglect. And this 12-hour action showed good co-operation with all the emergency services that successfully accomplished the 12 hour action.
Sunday, May 12, a similar situation reappeared in the area of Split, and the application referred to the shipwreck because the ship's SOS device was activated. At the HGSS call, and due to quick reaction of HAKOM, the device was located on a yacht to the connection with ACI Marina in Split. It was established that this was a fake alarm case.
The importance of HAKOM's measuring equipment and measuring vehicles, was proved again although, fortunately there was no threat to human life.
