The plenary meeting discussed the topics of interest and importance for all stakeholders in the postal services market in the EU


ZAGREB, November 30, 2018 – Following the invitation of the organizer, the regulatory body for electronic communications and postal services of the Republic of Serbia RATEL, Belgrade hosted 15th Plenary Meeting of the European Regulators Group for Postal Services. Within the scope of the meeting a special postal workshop was organized, on "Postal Framework-views inside and outside the EU". The meeting was attended by over a hundred participants from the EU member states, candidate countries and countries of the region, who,  through their presentations and debates, put a special emphasis on existing changes in the postal services markets within and outside the EU, potential changes to the existing regulatory framework and the challenges of further harmonization in the area of ​​postal services in the forthcoming period. In addition to experts from national regulatory bodies and representatives of the European Commission, this workshop brought together  the representatives of several postal service providers, the academic community as well as representatives of employees in the postal sector of the EU, which enabled stakeholders in the postal service market both inside and outside the EU to exchange experiences and discuss current topics with  the representatives of the European Commission and the ERGP member state postal services bodies.
 
At the plenary session, discussions were held on ERGP workforces work reports  over the past period (regulatory accounting and pricing regulation, implementation and development of universal service provision, quality of postal services and end-user satisfaction, market development and regulatory effects, "end-to-end "competition and regulations on access to the postal network), the application of the EU Council Regulation and the European Parliament on cross-border parcel delivery services as well as the ERGP Work Programme, Communication Plan for 2019. Within the scope of the meeting  the Co-chairs of ERGP working groups were elected or confirmed for forthcoming period and the election of the ERGP Chairperson in 2020 was carried out as well.
