Positive Trends in Revenue Growth in the Postal services market
PRESS RELEASE
In the first Quarter of 2018 on the Postal Services Market the total revenue growth has been marked compared to the Quarter before as well as to the same Quarter 2017.
ZAGREB, June 13, 2018 - The postal services market in the Republic of Croatia recorded the revenue growth even in the first quarter of 2018. The trend has continued although the smaller amount of services has been achieved last three months of the year before . In the first quarter of this year the revenues have increased by about 2 % compared to the quarter before and about eight percent over the same period last year. The growth is primarily a result of increased revenue from higher value services, with the number of parcels, including e-commerce, increased by 11 percent in the year. This trend is expected to continue in the future as well and according to the results from over the last couple of years where the total revenue growth has been marked despite the decline in the number of services provided. Thus, in 2017, fewer postal services were realized than in 2016, but revenues grew by 2.4 percent because they were offset by higher value services.
During the first quarter of 2018, a new provider of postal services appeared on the market. A total of 23 providers provided their services at the end of the quarter. The dominant provider is HP-Hrvatska pošta d.d. reaching 85% market share.
