HAKOM organized workshops on the successful implementation of the project for the construction of access to broadband infrastructure financed from the EU Funds

Altogether 45 representatives of project holders participated in the workshops, discussing all open issues related to the preparation and implementation of the projects.
ZAGREB, May 25, 2018 - The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), the holder of the National Framework Programme for the Development of Broadband Infrastructure in the areas where there is insufficient commercial investment interest (NOP), has organized two workshops on "How to successfully complete the project regarding the implementation of broadband access infrastructure financed from the EU funds ". The workshops were aimed at all broadband infrastructure development projects. The workshops were held in HAKOM’s premises on May 23 and 24, 2018.
Altogether 45 representatives of project holders participated in the workshops. Representatives of NOP, Transmitters and Connection Ltd (OIV), the Ministries of Regional Development and Funds of the European Union (MRRFEU), the Central Finance and Contracting Agency for Programs and Projects of the European Union (SAFU) and the Agency for Investment and Competitiveness (AIK) held lectures on the role of individual bodies in the preparation and implementation projects, open issues related to the final version of the Broadband Infrastructure Development Project (PRSC), preparation and implementation of public procurement, information related to the publication of the Call fort Grants from MRRFEU, the role of OiV and giving instructions regarding the demarcation points, as well as presenting the role of AIK and approaching model C (public-private partnerships) to project holders. The workshops were aimed at exchanging knowledge and experience as well as getting to know the participants with the current situation and the future activities of all bodies in the system. During the workshop, a constructive discussion was opened about all open issues related to the preparation and implementation of projects. It was concluded that everybody was facing great challenge as well as the potential to accomplish significant economic effects through the construction of broadband access networks, both at the local and international level.
