Round Table on "Introduction of 5G Networks in Croatia"

The topics related to the innovation and economic potential were discussed as well as possible barriers to the introduction of 5G technology
ZAGREB, May 25, 2018 - A Round Table on "Introduction of the 5G networks in the Republic of Croatia" was held in Opatija on 22 May, 2018 at this year's MIPRO. On this occasion, topics related to the innovation and economic potential as well as possible obstacles to the introduction of 5G technologies were discussed. The participants of the round table were the representatives of the mobile communications network operators, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure (MMPI), the City of Jastrebarsko and HAKOM. Introductory Representatives of Ericson Nikola Tesla showed and presented some of the 5G and IoT solutions that were developed within the scope of the company, enabling the broader audience to virtually see the opportunities provided by this technology. The mobile communications network operators pointed to the issues predicted by introducing the 5G, but also represented good examples of co-operation with individual local government units which initiated advanced technology testing pilot projects in their communities. In Jastrebarsko, some tests of these advanced technologies are being conducted. The Mayor of Jastrebarsko presented the occupations and benefits of this co-operation.
