HAKOM's Experts held a Workshop on Internet Security and Cyberbullying Prevention for High School Students in Split

This is the first educational workshop in Split and the High School “Visoka” was chosen as a neighbourhood school since HAKOM has its branch office in the immediate vicinity. In addition to the workshop  held by HAKOM ‘s experts in Hugh School “Visoka” ( 45  high school pupils ) the same workshop was held in  the Elementary School “Žrnovnica”.
 
ZAGREB, April 20, 2018 – Within the scope of the project on Teens protecting Online  and in the world of network technologies HAKOM’s experts held an educational workshop for fifth grade pupils OF High School “Visoka“ in Split.

The  project  has been systematically implemented since 2016 in the  elementary schools of the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb County.The project is aimed at  the fifth grade students  and their parents. The objective  of the project is to provide sufficient information to children on safety and to parents about responsible behaviour when using online technologies when children start to use them  without constant adult supervision. At the educative workshops for students and their parents conducted in the elementary schools  HAKOM's experts speak of security on the Internet as well as on responsible and good behaviour and the prevention of cyberbullying. This is the first  educational workshop in Split, and the High School was chosen as a neighborhood school, since HAKOM has recently had its branch office in the immediate vicinity. In addition to the number of  45 high school students and their parents the same workshop was held  for the students of the Žrnovnica Elementary School. Education was carried out  by Gordana Kulišić, Senior Consumer Protection Expert and Roland Lipošinović, Senior Information Technology Specialist.

On this occasion, HAKOM's brochure entitled "How to Protect children in the World of Internet, Network Technologies and Mobile Phones" was  presented and  distributed to children and teens  throughout Croatia. The brochure contains practical and useful tips on the Internet dangers and security, privacy and personal data, the way of  behaviour  and responsible usage of social networks, representing a  part of the HAKOM’s Children  and Parent Information Programme in cooperation  with the Ministry of Science and Education.
