HAKOM at this Year's first BEREC Plenary Session

At the session held in Bratislava main topics were related to the discussion of the current situation as well as further steps of the regulatory framework for electronic communications, the adoption of a public announcement , the latest report on the effects of RLAH implementation and data traffic as well as opening public consultation on the consultation document regarding the NN Rules application.

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 - The first Plenary Session of (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications BEREC  was held in Bratislava, Slovakia where the main topics were related to  the discussion of  current situation as well as the further steps of  regulatory framework for electronic communications. Further steps referred to the forthcoming discussions (meetings between representatives of the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission) on certain areas of the new regulatory framework. The latest report on the effects of RLAH implementation (Rome Like At Home - RLAH) on the total turnover, revenues and wholesale charges of the operator covers the period from 1 April to 30 September 2017. In addition to the most recent report on the effects of introducing RLAH, for public disclosure a report was adopted on equal opportunities for access and selection of persons with special needs.

Following the obligations stipulated by TSM Ordinance (Telecom Single Market - TSM), a consultative document related to the implementation of the NN rules or the rules of network neutrality was adopted for public consultation.

The day before BEREC Plenary Session, two workshops were held. The first workshop was related to the impact of 5G network development on future business models, the opportunities and challenges that the 5G network brings as well as the regulatory capabilities. In the second workshop, the emphasis is on the importance of cyber security in the light of the development of 5G networks and the Internet of Things (IOT).
