.

ZAGREB, January 31, 2018 –The number of  29,000 users was  enrolled in the "Do not Call" Registry  during the first year of putting it into  operation and in such way that the merchants were prohibited to contact the users in order to drive Market Sales with Text Message Marketing. The "Do not Call" Registry+685 which was implemented at the beginning of last year in cooperation with HAKOM and the Ministry of the Economy is a free public Registry of telephone numbers of consumers who do not want traders to contact them by phone or SMS and MMS for promotion and sales purposes. The Registry is prescribed by the Consumer Protection Act, and the numbers are entered (or printed) by an individual operator at the request of the consumer (signatories of the contract with the operator) within 7 days of receipt of the request. HAKOM is competent to handle the operator in cases of disputed requests for entry / printing, and in case the retailers call the numbers from the registry or send a promotional message, it is necessary to report to the competent market inspection at the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts.

To enter a number in the registry the owner of the number should correctly fill out the prescribed application form and hand it over to his operator. An application can always be submitted to the operator in two ways: by post or by personal delivery in the operator's office. The operator will check the validity of the application and within a maximum of 7 days enter the number in the registry Please note that the operator may allow its users to submit requests in other ways (primarily electronic) if they can authenticate / identify the requesting user (for example, through user accounts for which the username needs to be entered and password protected or by sending an e-mails that the operator recorded for contact with the user). Any electronic way of submitting a request must be checked with your operator.

The "Do Not Call" register is public and it provides three information: whether a particular number is entered in the registry, whether the previously given privations had been withdrawn for that number and the time stamp when the number was entered in the registry. All users (natural persons) who are both voice and SMS and MMS services can be entered in the registry. Only a customer who has contracted a service on a particular telephone number can request entering in or listing out of the registry. The status of the individual number in the registry as well as the form for requesting entering into / listing out can be found on HAKOM’s website on the following link.
