According to the Survey by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) the Republic of Croatia has made Significant Progress in regulating the ICT

In comparison to the 2007 reaching the 72.5 points (out of 100 possible) and taking the 29th place in the rankings, the Republic of Croatia has progressed to the 17th position with a total score of 93 points.
ZAGREB, January 22, 2018 - The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) announces the results of the "ICT Regulatory Tracker" for 2016, evidence based analytical tool collected by the ITU aimed at the regulators and decision-makers in the ICT market for a better understanding of rapid ICT regulation evolution. The Tracker provides a variety of analytical features to determine the changes that are taking place in the ICT regulatory environment.
The Tracker consists of 50 indicators shown over a period of 10 years from 2007 to 2016. It is divided into 4 categories: 1. Regulatory body 19/20, 2. Regulatory mandate 19/22, 3. Regulatory arrangement (regime) 28 / 30 and 4. Competition Framework 27/28 (result achieved / maximum number of points in 2016 (out of 100 possible) and accordingly reached the 29th place while in 2016 it reached 17th place with a total score of 93 points. The Tracker for 2017 will be released in July 2018 as part of the Global Symposium for Regulators.
The ITU is a specialized Body of United Nations with 193 Member States and nearly 800 entity from the private technology sector and academia. ITU is in charge of the global allocation of radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbit, the development of technical standards that ensure those networks and technologies can be connected to increase the availability of information and communication technologies.
