Hakom - Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency

ZAGREB, 8 December 2017 - This year's Plenary Meeting of Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 7 and 8 December. The main topics were related to the adoption of important documents such as the BEREC Annual Work Programme for 2018, the BEREC 2018 Communication Plan, Reports on the Implementation of obligations on network neutrality pursuant to Network Neutrality Regulation and further discussion on regulatory framework for the electronic communications. Every year, BEREC adopts its Annual Work Programme for the next year. After this meeting the Annual Work Programme for 2018 was adopted together with closely related BEREC Communication Plan for 2018. The communication plan is consisted of 5 communication activities that are directly related to 5 major BEREC strategic activities in 2018. Since it is of great importance that BEREC's both documents have the mid-term strategy and are fully aligned with the mid-term BEREC strategy they were adopted at the BEREC Plenary Meeting which was held in Bucharest in early October.

Last year in August BEREC issued Guidelines helping the EU regulatory bodies perform monitoring  and controlling  the implementation of the Network Neutrality Regulation, with the aim of providing all users with non-discriminatory and transparent access to the open Internet. At the plenary session the report was adopted on the activities of regulatory bodies for the period from 30 April 2016 to 30 April 2017 regarding the implementation of obligations on network neutrality pursuant to the Network Neutrality Regulation.

At this year’s last meeting, the governing body was chosen, BEREC Vice-Chairman for 2018 and BEREC Chairman for 2019. The Vice-President chosen for 2018 is Mr. George Michaelides (OCECPR - Cyprus) Dan Sjöblom (PTS – Sweden) and Chair of BEREC in 2019 who is also Vice-chairman in 2018 will be Mr. Jeremy Godfrey (ComReg - Ireland).
