HAKOM: Increasing Demand for Parcel Services

The growth of parcel services has continued in the third quarter of 2017
ZAGREB, December 5, 2017 - The trend of parcel services growth in the Croatian market has continued in the third quarter of 2017. In comparison to the previous quarter, the number of parcels exceeded by more than 6 %, as well as the growth of 11%, recorded this year, in comparison to the same period of the previous year. The number of mentioned parcels increased by 8% compared to the quarter before. The growth of parcel number has increased the market shares in total. Therefore, from the beginning of this year the share of parcel has grown for more than 1 %, currently amounting 6.5 % of all postal services on the market. The continuation of such developments is expected in the future, primarily due to the expected growth in e-commerce services.
The increased number of services was also recorded in the international incoming and outgoing traffic with 11 % more services than in the previous quarter resulting with the increased international traffic market share within the scope of the traffic in total. The number of postal service providers has not changed. At the end of the third quarter, there was a number of 22 suppliers out of which HP-Hrvatska d.d. is the largest provider with a share of about 82 %.
