ZAGREB, November 8, 2017 International Workshop on fiber optic system in access networks FOAN2017 was held within the framework of International Conference on Ultra-Modern Telecommunication and Control Systems ICUMT 2017. The primary goal of the workshop was to present the latest research in the field of fiber optic technology for access networks.
The workshop was attended by numerous experts and scientists, representatives of industry, academic community and operators. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Mladen Sikirica, Senior Communications Expert, the co-author of work entitled “Optical Access Networks on the Croatian Telecommunication Market", who in cooperation with his colleagues Damir Brešković (Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d.) and Dinko Begušić (FESB) made a review on development of fiber optic access networks in the Republic of Croatia.
