Croatian Parliament Adopted Final Draft of the Act on the Regulation of Railway Services Market and the Protection of Passenger Rights in Rail Transport

The new Act on the Regulation of Rail Services Market and the protection of the passenger rights in rail transport will simplify the procedure for the protection of passenger rights.
ZAGREB, October 16, 2017 – At its 5th Session, the Croatian Parliament adopted the Final Draft of the Act on Regulation of the Rail Service Market with 104 votes in favour and 12 abstentions. The new Act on the Regulation of Rail Services Market and protection of passenger rights in rail transport will simplify the procedure for the protection of the rights of passengers and strengthen the role of inspectors in the protection of passenger rights in rail transport. A passenger will no longer have to submit a complaint to the Consumers Complaints Committee at Rail Carrier and HAKOM at the same time, but he will be offered possibility to contact HAKOM upon completion of the procedure before the Commission.
The Legislation Committee of the Croatian Parliament as well as the Committee on Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure expressed positive views on afore-mentioned agenda items. The Act is available on the following link
