HAKOM's Experts at the Meeting of the Working Group Responsible for the Numbering and Networking Area (WG NaN)

The Working Group deals with the drafting rules for addressing and numbering, as well as consulting and recommendations on regulatory technical issues in order to promote and support innovations and competitiveness in the field of electronic communications.
 
ZAGREB, May 30, 2017 - Following the invitation of the organizer the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority FICORA (Viestintävirasto), Helsinki hosted a three-day meeting of Working Group Numbering and Networks (WG NaN) responsible for developing policies in numbering, naming, addressing and advising on technical regulatory matters to promote and support telecom innovation and competition. Within the scope of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations this working group (CEPT) deals with the drafting rules for addressing and numbering, as well as consulting and recommendations on regulatory technical issues in order to promote and support innovations and competitiveness in the field of electronic communications. The most important topics of the meeting were related to the adoption of reports on regulatory aspects of migration from PSTN / ISDN to IP based networks (public announcement of reports), adoption of prefix decisions and short codes of national numbering plans (for launching public consultations), adoption of proposal on harmonized governance principles and allocation of E.212 mobile network codes (MNC, final adoption and public announcement) and drafting proposal on numbering in case of e-Calls(public consultation).
 
The representatives of 25 regulatory bodies of the European countries, the renowned experts in the field of electronic communications, representatives of the European Radio communications Office (ECO), and Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) were represented by  HAKOM’s experts Velimir Švedek and Robert Vulas.
