HAKOM at the Workshop on Broadband Access Strategies

The workshop focused on the practice of each country and their strategy of broadband implementation and the provision of universal services.
 
Zagreb, May 17, 2017 - Under the auspices of EMERG (European Mediterranean Regulators Group) Berlin hosted the workshop on broadband access strategies and obligations for the provision of  universal service within the framework of international cooperation in the area of ​​broadband services and universal service. The workshop was held in co-operation with the Italian Independent Electronic Communications Regulator (AGCOM) and the TRC (Telecommunication Trigulatory Commission) as the chair of the workshop.
 
The workshop focused on the practice of each country and their strategy of broadband implementation and the provision of universal services. Emphasis was put on present and future practices of EMERG countries, particularly in the area of ​​ definition of broadband objectives, cost reduction of construction for fixed and mobile broadband networks, regulatory support on supply-demand, measurement and monitoring of broadband QoS / QoE, state aid and other ways of promoting the development of broadband access. Plans and the situation in the Republic of Croatia were presented by HAKOM’s experts Jagoda Peleponjko and Vesna Gašpar.
 
EMERG (The European Mediterranean Regulators Group) consists mainly of the Mediterranean countries and other countries as well (22 in total): Algeria, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Malta, Morocco, Palestine, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey.
