Aside from 4 parallel sessions at the conference the central event was Round table entitled “ICT yesterday, today and tomorrow: Were we more progressive 25 years ago?˝. Dražen Lučić President of the Council at HAKOM talked about the importance of infrastructure development, as a necessary precondition for high speed broadband and Marko Čavlović, Assistant Director at HAKOM was the moderator of the session regarding digitization and digital economy.
 
ZAGREB, April 12, 2017 -  On 11 and 12 April Zagreb hosted  the first international JUMP IT forum entitled “How  the  ICT encourages economic growth” which brought  together the leading ICT companies  from Croatia, the representatives of business associations, public administration, media and international consultants.

Apart from 4 parallel sessions at the conference the central event was Round table entitled “ICT yesterday, today and tomorrow: Were we more progressive 25 years ago?˝. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Ms. Martina Dalić addressed the participants after which she took part in the Round table. Mr. Dražen Lučić, President of the Council at HAKOM pointed out the importance of infrastructure development as a necessary precondition for high speed broadband.

During the first day of the Forum, Mr. Marko Čavlović, Assistant Director at HAKOM was the moderator of the session related to digitization and digital economy. In its introductory speech HAKOM presented the concept  of digital economy and its requirements. It was followed by 9 presentations showing the digital economy from different points of view and the possible steps for being successful in the world of digital economy.

The presentations were given by the representatives of academia, consulting experts in the field of digital companies, large global companies operating in Croatia as well as the representatives of smaller companies helping Croatian companies to prepare for digital transformation with their knowledge and experience. I was pointed out that Strong cooperation and connectivity of all parts of society including the state with its public institutions, the private sector with large companies and small companies and eventually the end users who use all these new services are the keys for being successful in the world of digital economy. Apart from  a better connectivity and collaboration it is necessary to develop a knowledge-based society. The individual approach is necessary succees in the world of the digital economy and this approach is required by a knowledge society.
