HAKOM Formally Received Consultative Status for EaPeReg Organization

At the plenary session which was held in Chisinau, HAKOM has formally received the consultative status of the organization whose members are the regulators of the countries united in the programme from the Member States. The day before the plenary session a workshop was held on the development of broadband Internet access where HAKOM presented its activities
 
ZAGREB, April 10, 2017 - On April 2017, the capital of Moldova,Chisinau  hosted the EaPeRe Plenary Session of - (Eastern Partnership Regulators for Electronic Communications) comprising the following  6 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) joined  the programme of the eastern partnership (EaP). In addition, the meeting was attended by the representatives of  EaPeReg advisers and  from the EU  Member States (KDSP - Latvia; RRT - Lithuania; BNetzA - Germany; UKE - Poland; ANCOM - Romania; PTS - Sweden) as well as the representatives of the consulting company “Cullen International”. This year, the Moldovan regulator (ANRCETI - The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology) presides over EaPeReg organization.
 
Thanks to a very good cooperation  between BEREC and EaPeReg HAKOM was requested by the Member States and advisers within the EaPeReg to join as a new Member State and as such contributes with its knowledge and experience in the work of this organization in  the regulation of electronic communications.
 
The main topic of EaPeReg - Plenary session was the discussion regarding the EaPeReg work programme- for 2017 and  about the  activities for 2018 and 2019. Moreover it was discussed on joint presentation at the meeting of BEREC, EaPeReg, a REGULATEL- and EMERG, which will be held the day before BEREC Plenary Session in Lisbon at the beginning of June this year. EMERG represents the Euro-Mediterranean group while the REGULATEL represents Latin American umbrella organization and Latin American counterpart to BEREC.

The day before the EaPeReg Plenary Session a workshop was held on the development of broadband Internet access. HAKOM’s representatives presented their experience in the regulation of wholesale broadband market as well as the experience regarding the  protection of users in reference to the mentioned provision of services.

Domagoj Jurjević, Deputy President of Council at HAKOM and Marko Čavlović, Deputy Director at HAKOM took part in the meeting on behalf of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM).
