HAKOM at Meeting of BEREC’s Regulatory Framework Expert Working Group

The meeting for a preliminary analysis of the Proposal to the Ordinance was held in Brussels. The meeting aimed at the processing of personal data and Protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector entitled E-policy Regulation was sent into the legislative procedure by the European Commission at the beginning of the year.


ZAGREB, February 10, 2017 - Following the invitation of the  organizer, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) the Regulatory Framework Expert Working Group held the meeting on Friday, February 10 in Brussels.

The aim of the meeting was a preliminary analysis of the Proposal to the Ordinance  on privacy protection  in the  electronic communications sector,  the so-called Regulation of  e-policy which was sent to the  legislative procedure by the European Commission  at the beginning of the year. The Ordinance  is amendment to the general Ordinance on the protection of personal data and it will be directly applicable in all the Member States. It will replace the current directive on e-privacy whose provisions were implemented in the Law on Electronic Communication. Domagoj Maričić, Head of Legal Affairs Department took part in the meeting on behalf of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries.
