HAKOM at the meeting of the Radio Spectrum Committee (RSC)

The Radio Spectrum Commitee, inter alia, helps the EC in the adoption of implementing decisions concerning the management of the spectrum in the EU Member States.  

  
Zagreb, 8 December 2016 – A meeting of the Radio Spectrum Committee (RSC), an European Commission working group in charge of spectrum management, was held on Wednesday, 7 December, in Brussels. This working group, inter alia, helps the EC in the adoption of implementing decisions concerning the management of the spectrum in the EU Member States.
 
The most important topics that were discussed at the 58th meeting of the RSC include the preparation of harmonized technical requirements for use of the 5th generation mobile communications networks, the application of EU regulations on spectrum management, the Decision on the use of mobile communications services on board vessels and aircraft and the expansion of the Decision on the use of short-range devices. The EC Decision on use of mobile communications services on board vessels was adopted at the meeting thus expanding the application to 4th and 5th generation networks. Furthermore, the mandate for the preparation of harmonized technical requirements for 5th generation mobile networks in 3.5 GHz, 26 GHz and 1.5 GHz bands was also adopted.
 
The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries was represented at the meeting of the Radio Spectrum Committee by Assistant Director Željko Tabaković.
