ZAGREB, December 5, 2016 – A Positive trend has continued in the third quarter of 2016 on the postal services market. In comparison to the previous quarter the number of provided services has increased for about 2 % and compared to the same period last year it has increased for 3%. The most significant impact on the overall increase in the number of services was the increase in shipments of direct mail and parcels thus recording a constant growth. However, the number of parcels has increased by 10 percent since the beginning of the year.
The trend of growth has been recorded in the international traffic which has been increased for about 7 % compared to the second quarter of 2016, occupying 7,5 % of the postal service market.
The increase in the total number of services had an influence on the income from the provided postal services so the revenues have increased by 5 % compared to the previous quarter and compared to the same period last year by 6 %. Positive trends on the postal services market are expected in the fourth quarter of 2016 due to increased demands on the postal services market at the end of the year.

The leading service provider is the Croatian Post, whose market share has decreased by 1 % compared to the previous quarter reaching the market share of 79 %.
