ZAGREB, 28 November 2016 - A two-day conference on the electronic communications technologies and standards in informatics KOM 2016 was opened on 28 November in Zagreb. Topics of this year's conference were:. “Networks and Network Technologies”, Telecommunications and Services t ”Network Management and Solutions “, “Mobile Networks Safety and  Protection”.

The conference was opened by the President of the Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) Mr. Dražen Lučić, who gave a key note speech on the possibilities and challenges of the Republic of Croatia in the  European Union’s Digital Single Market.˝ The fourth industrial revolution and the digital economy of the European Union are based on the single market in the electronic communications, and telecommunications, as one of the most vital sectors of the Croatian economy creating many opportunities for the successful positioning of our economy on the EU’s Digital Single Market. During the presentation, the future possibilities and challenges of the Republic of Croatia in the EU’s Digital Single Market were discussed as well as the preconditions and possible activities in the field of electronic communications in order for digital economy and the fourth industrial revolution to be successful in Croatia.

HAKOM’s Executive Director Mario Weber gave a lecture on “Market Regulation of the Internet of Things in Smart Cities”. HAKOM's expert Jagoda Peleponjko presented “ Future  Development Plans” - the EC legislative activities within the scope of the Digital Single Market. Danko Čurepić discussed on the “Mapping of Broadband Internet Access and the Electronic Communications Infrastructure“and HAKOM’s Expert Ivana Madžar  participated  in panel discussion on “What is too expensive in  broadband networks?”
 
On the second day of the conference, HAKOM's expert Mislav Hebel presented “Roam like at Home RLAH: a Step towards the Telecoms Single Market.
