The amendments to the text of the implementing regulation on the criteria for fair use of roaming services were proposed at the meeting. The adoption of this regulation is a precondition for the complete abolition of retail charges for roaming services until June 2017.
ZAGREB, November 11, 2016 – On November 11, the 66th Communications Committee meeting (COCOM) was held. The HAKOM’s representatives Domagoj Maričić, Head of Legal Affairs Department and Natalija Boltužić, Council Secretary took part in the meeting.
COCOM committee is a dialogue forum between the European Commission (EC) and the EU Member States on the issues where the European Commission has delegated legislative powers (powers for the adoption of implementing regulations). Prior to the adoption of the regulations the Committee must have consultations with the experts from the Member States. The topics discussed at the meeting were the remarks by the Member States on the text of the implementing regulation on the criteria of fair use of roaming services. The adoption of this regulation is a precondition for the complete abolition of retail charges for roaming services by June 2017. The proposed amendments to the text of the said regulation and final decision is scheduled for November 23.
