HAKOM at the Workshop of the European Commission on the Postal Statistics

The aim of the workshop was to inform the participants with the methodology of collecting, processing and analysing the statistical data in the field of postal services.
ZAGREB, 7 November 2016 - The DG-GROW Working Group of the European Union held an expert workshop on the statistics of postal services in Brussels on 7 and 8 November. The European Commission’s Working Group for postal statistics collects data from all EU Member States and candidate countries on the postal services market with the aim of monitoring the development of postal services at the European level. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is responsible for the collection, processing and the delivery on the postal services market as a national regulatory authority for postal services.
The Workshop on the postal statistics was organized in order to harmonize the practices of the methodology of collecting, processing and analysing the data in all countries in order to be comparable to the EU level. During the workshop, the participants learned the method of collecting data, the process and method of collecting and processing data by taking into consideration the fact that practical examples were used. The participants were experts from the regulatory authorities and ministries of the EU Member States and candidate countries who are dealing with the statistics regarding the postal services market. HAKOM was represented by Andrej Sardelić, Head of postal Services Department and Stjepan Paler, Senior Postal Services Expert.
