The topic of the meeting was the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cross-border parcel delivery services.
ZAGREB, October 26, 2016 – The meeting of Working Group of the EU Council responsible for the postal services was held in Brussels. The topic of the meeting was the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cross-border parcel delivery services. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was presented by Ana Šubat Perković, Legal Affairs Expert.
In May 2016, the European Commission published the proposed Regulation and submitted it to the regular legislative procedure. The proposed Regulation shall be adopted as one of the measures within the Strategy of Digital Single Market (DSM) according to which it will enable the end-users and companies from the EU to take full advantage of the EU single market in order to buy / sell easy and safe goods and services via the Internet by improving the price transparency, eliminating the cross-border obstacles and administrative constraints, improving the regulatory framework of cross-border parcel delivery services as well as implementing the measures to remove potential unfair commercial practices in the digital world.
