HAKOM at the 24th International Scientific Conference “Softcom 2016” in Split

At this year’s SofCOM conference HAKOM organized a round table on the topic of “Broadband Internet Access”. The round table was moderated by Mrs. Kristina Ćosić, senior expert, while Mr. Josip Šajnović was one of the participants.
 
ZAGREB, 23 September 2016. – Experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) have actively participated in the work of the 24th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks, “SoftCOM 2016” which is taking place from 22 to 24 September in Split. The opening speeches at the Conference were given by the County Prefect of the Splitsko-Dalmatinska County, the Rector of the University of Split, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split (FESB), the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb (FER), by representatives of the IEEE and also by the President of HAKOM, Mr. Dražen Lučić, who is at the same time a member of the conference organization committee.
 
At this year’s SofCOM conference HAKOM organized a round table on the topic of “Broadband Internet Access”. The round table was moderated by Mrs. Kristina Ćosić, senior expert, while Mr. Josip Šajnović was one of the participants. The round table was also attended by experts from HAKOM’s Control and Measuring Centre in Split. The round table was organized by Mr. Mario Weber, the Director of HAKOM, who is also a member of the conference organization committee.
 
Another round table was organized within the framework of the project “Looking to the Future 2020” which is implemented by HAKOM in cooperation with faculties of the Universities of Split, Zagreb and Osijek and network operators and companies in the telecommunications sector. HAKOM’s experts stressed the role of HAKOM as the competent authority for the National Framework Programme for Broadband Access Development in Areas Lacking Sufficient Commercial Interest for Investments into electronic communications infrastructure. Through participation at academic gatherings such as SoftCOM HAKOM continues its successful cooperation with representatives of the academic community and the industry.
