HAKOM at the meeting of TCAM Committee and TCAM Working Group

The most important topics of the meeting included the application of the Radio Equipment Directive to individual types of products and decisions concerning the information of users about restrictions of use of the equipment.
 
ZAGREB, 24 June 2016 – The 43rd meeting of the 43. European Telecommunications Conformity Assessment and Market Surveillance Committee (TCAM) and the 9th meeting of the TCAM Working Group were held in Brussels. TCAM is an advisory and regulatory committee assisting the European Commission with issues concerning conformity assessment and radio equipment market surveillance.
 
The most important topics of the meeting included the application of the Radio Equipment Directive to individual types of products and decisions concerning the information of users about restrictions of use of the equipment. Participants also learned about activities and results of related committees, associations connected with conformity assessment, bodies competent for market surveillance, standardization bodies and representatives of users of radio equipment. The meeting covered the application the Radio Equipment Directive to cars, small appliances, drones, satellite receivers, radiodetermination equipment, RFID markings and wireless chargers. Agreement was reached on the transitional period for the RED and on conformity assessment procedures of notified bodies. The working group continued its work on the EU implementing decision on the provision of information to users of radio equipment concerning the possible restrictions of use and the requirement of a license for use of the RF spectrum.
 
The TCAM Committee meeting was attended by representatives of all EU Member States, and the TCAM Working Group included representatives from the industry as well, including CENELEC, CECED, ETSI, RED CA, Digital Europe, Orgalime, ECC, ANEC and ECC. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by a Senior Expert on R&TT equipment, Tomislav Bartolec.
