PESS RELEASE
The revenue from the provision of postal services grew by 5 percent in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period last year.
ZAGREB, 31 May 2016 – Positive trends on the postal services market in the Republic of Croatia continued in the first quarter of 2016. Revenue from postal services grew by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2015, although the total number of services stayed at the same level, that is, almost identical number of services was provided in 2016 and 2015. Increased revenue results from the growth in the parcel segment which increased by around 3 percent compared to the same period last year together with the increased revenue from the provision of value added services which include services related to e-trade. It is expected that this trend will continue in the future. This statement may be supported by information that revenue in 2015 increased compared to 2014 in spite of the decrease in the total number of postal services.
The number of providers on the postal services marked in the Republic of Croatia did not change with the total number at the end of the first quarter amounting to 22. Market consolidation continued and the provider HP-Hrvatska pošta d.d. is still the leading provided with a 82 percent market share.
