HAKOM at the 51st CERP Plenary Meeting of the European Committee for Postal Regulation

This is the most important preparatory meeting for the World’s Postal Congress of the European countries beginning in September in Istanbul, Turkey.
 
ZAGREB, May 23, 2016.- On Monday and 23 and Tuesday 24 May 2016, the 51st CERP plenary meeting (The European Committee for Postal Regulation) is held in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Committee was established in 1992 under the auspices of the CEPT (The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations). It is a vocational expert body in the field of regulation of postal services whose work includes 48 European countries. CERP is an important partner of the European Commission regarding the international issues toward the Universal Postal Union - UPU. The CERP plenary meeting is a major preparatory meeting shortely before the Universal Postal Congress which is to be held in September in Istanbul, Turkey. The representatives of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries Mr Dražen Lučić, President of the Council of HAKOM and Mr. Marijan Bolarić, Member of the Council of HAKOM actively participate at the plenary meeting attended by the numerous delegations of experts in the field of postal services, the representatives of relevant ministries, various government departments as well as the regulatory bodies. 

The main topics are the implementation of new reforms in the postal sector, modern solutions aimed at improving the quality of postal services and the CERP labour reform. E-commerce, as an initiator of the development of postal services is one of the most important discussion topics of a large number of participants.
