ZAGREB, May 2 2016 – Yesterday, the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) held a thematic debate entitled “Economy Talks in Zagreb: Through harmonized operations up to the transport routes competitiveness.” The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with “Privredni Vjesnik” is the second in a row among the thematic conferences which are planned to be organized with the objective of finding solutions to the challenges faced by the key players operating within the particular economic sector.
The conference was opened by Mr Luka Burilović, President of the CCE and Mr. Marko Jurčić, Economic Adviser to the President of the Republic of Croatia. Mr. Oleg Butković, Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure and Mr. Ante Vučić, Deputy Minister of Labour and Pension System also took part in the conference which gathered more than one hundred guests. The economy talks on transportation opened the key issues and offered answers on Croatia's competitiveness on the transport Rijeka - Zagreb – Budapest rout. In addition, the following issues were discussed such as the reasons of decline in freight transport or its minimum increase, the importance of compliance of all stakeholders in the process of rail container transport as well as small positive steps that could lead to competitiveness improvement. Discussions were led on modern transport, the development of modern infrastructure, development and application of new technologies and new ways of organizing the industrial production and services.
The meeting brought together the representatives of ministries, agencies and other public bodies as well as economy and science, important for functioning of the transportation system in Croatia.
