The main topics of the meeting are related to the CEPT report 59, whose task is to develop the technical adjustment of the radio frequency spectrum for the use of short-range devices as well as the discussion on the remarks, the requirements for radio frequency spectrum and developed compatibility studies related to the Recommendation 70-03 on short-range devices.
ZAGREB, April 22, 2016 – The 67th meeting of SRD / MG Working Group (Short Range Devices / Maintenance Group) was held in Vilnius Lithuania. The group is responsible for the technical harmonization of radio spectrum for the use of short-range devices. On the basis of carried out research, the Working group evaluates the requirements and possibilities for the future use of valuable and limited resources of the radio frequency spectrum and it also reviews the solutions regarding the improvement in the regulation. In addition, it encourages further innovation to the stakeholders on the market and clarifies the issues regarding the existing regulation. The Recommendation 70-03 sets out the general position on national implementation as an indicator of possible tendencies of the use of frequency ranges.
The main topics of the meeting are related to the CEPT Report 59 for which a public discussion was carried out at the European level as well as to the reviews and revision of certain technical amendments to the Recommendation 70-03 and the ECC decisions. The meeting discussed and explored the possibilities within the scope of the radio frequency bands 862-876 MHz, unmatched 2GHz radio frequency bands and the UWB (Ultra Wideband), SRR (Short Range Radar), CB (Civil Band), PMR446 (Private Mobile Radio ), 5 GHz RLANs (Radio Local Area Networks) and various other applications.
At the meeting there were 51 participants from 26 countries as well as the representatives of the industry and the European Communications Office – ECO. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by HAKOM’s expert Tomislav Bartolec.
