HAKOM at the BEREC's Working Group Meeting NGN

The working group deals with the issues regarding the development of next generation networks and the challenges arising from it. The topics of the meeting were the adoption of prepared reports and continued work on the report dealing with migration towards IP in the access part of the network.
ZAGREB, 22 April 2016 – Following the invitation of the organizer the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications, Next Generation Networks Working Group EWG NGN held a two-day meeting. This working group deals with the issues regarding the development of next generation networks and the challenges arising from it. The representatives of the regulatory authorities of the EU Member States and BEREC participated at the first part of the meeting and two final consultations were held on the following reports “ Regulatory impact of software defined networking deployment and virtualization of network functions”, “Common features of the wholesale access product level 2˝ and “Challenges and initiators of the development of next generation access networks and infrastructure competition” which should be adopted at the next BEREC plenary meeting. At the second part of the meeting the focus was on the migration to IP in the access part of the network where the situation from France, Croatia, Italy and Germany was presented to the participants.
Within the meeting, a Drafting Group held the meeting on the topic” Migration to IP in the access part of the network” and apart from the project manager, only the representatives of regulatory authorities from France and Croatia participated. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Tomislav Lovrić , Senior Market Analysis Expert.
