ZAGREB, April 18, 2016 - Shortly before the International Girls in ICT Day the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) organized and held the “Smart Lumies˝ workshop. The girls from primary schools Vrbani and Prečko took part in the workshop. Under the expert guidance of Martin Grgić, Filip Kovačić Popov and Fran Stanić who designed this interactive educational dice, the children who attended the workshop gained knowledge about colours, sounds and a law of physics by subconsciously developing their logical thinking. Smart Lumies cubes are didactic toys for children and a tool for learning how to program without a display. They are visually very attractive encouraging their memory at an early age and adjusting them to the multifunction devices that surround them. Apart from Lumies cubes, the development of prototype platform called Game Creator is in progress making these small cube devices a toy beyond borders. Through the Game Creator platform with a tailored approach the children at the primary school age have a possibility to create their own games for their cubes.
Following the invitation of the organizer (HAKOM) LEGO Education will be held on Tuesday. This programme is in the Croatian language and it has been developed and used for more than 30 years in cooperation with teachers and educational institutions around the world. The programme deals with the transferring of knowledge from science, technology, engineering and mathematics and it is intended for the children of school age who are just getting to know the concepts from these fields.
