ZAGREB, 20 November 2015 - Following the invitation of the organizer the Spanish regulator CNMC (Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia) the fourth meeting of BEREC Contact Group for 2015 (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) was held in Barcelona on November 19 and 20. The objective of the meeting is the preparation of the 25th BEREC’s regular plenary session which will be held between 9 and 11 December in London. The Contact Group discussed the topics that would be the focus of the next plenary session such as the revision of the EU regulatory framework and the status of activities in each BEREC’s Expert Working Group. Therefore the prepared BEREC documentation was discussed and its final versions will be discussed at the plenary session.

At the meeting of the Contact Group the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Marko Čavlović. On Thursday at the beginning of the meeting there were discussions about the workshop which will be held at the upcoming plenary session where some of the regulators and the industry representatives will be presenting the current topics concerning roaming as well as the challenges that occur in the mobile telecommunications markets. At the second in a row plenary session HAKOM’s representatives will introduce their experiences on the Croatian telecommunications market, since the Croatian example is very interesting to other European regulators. At the plenary session, HAKOM will introduce the way of wholesale regulation between the operators who enable the users to speak freely over mobile devices

In addition to the BEREC Annual Work Programme for 2016, which will be forwarded to the plenary session in order to be approved for the publication,  two documents need to be pointed out as HAKOM’s experts have actively been involved in the Programme 2016 drafting the mentioned two documents.. One of the documents refers to the BEREC response to the EC questionnaire in the regulatory framework revision procedure and the objective is to draft and adopt the document. The other document refers to the BEREC report on OTT services, and the document will be forwarded to the BEREC plenary session in order to be approved for the publication.
