HAKOM’s Representatives are participating at the CA Annual Plenary Session of UPU taking place on November 12 and 13 in Bern.
ZAGREB, November 12, 2015 The Annual Plenary Session of the Council of Administration (CA) of the Universal Postal Union is held in Bern. The Council of Administration (CA) consists of 41 Member States of UPU but the representatives of 192 Member States of UPU are taking part at this Plenary Session. The CA ensures the continuity of the UPU’s work; it supervises its activities and studies regulatory, administrative and legal issues. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Mr. Marijan Bolarić, Member of the Council and Mr Dalibor Lončar, Assistant Director.
At the plenary session, the proposals important for the preparation of strategic documentation will be discussed, according to which the decisions shall be adopted for the 26th UPU Congress which is to be held in Istanbul in the period from September 19 to October 7, 2016.
Prior to the Plenary Session a Forum was organized which, by promoting the best practices regarding the organization of the postal services market, stimulated the discussion and the exchange of experiences regarding the regulation of the postal services market. The focus is aimed at changing environment and regulatory requirements i.e. the need for a new approach to the postal services market regulation.
