The main topics of the meeting refer to the final adoption of the report on PPDR systems (Public Protection and Disaster Relief) in 400 and 700 MHz frequency bands, which are based on LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology and that will be used by different public services in the mobile networks system.
ZAGREB, 2 October 2015 – Lyon is hosting the 71
st meeting of the Working Group Spectrum Engineering (WGSE), which is in charge of developing a technical base for using the radiofrequency band in Europe and represents the pillars for the development of a regulatory framework for the management of this important element of today’s electronic communications.
The main topics of the meeting refer to the final adoption of the report on PPDR systems (Public Protection and Disaster Relief) in 400 and 700 MHz frequency bands based on LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology that will be used by different public services in the mobile networks systems in many European countries. Furthermore, the first part of the report on possible expansion of the RLAN (Radio Local Area Network) system for additional frequency bands in 5GHz was forwarded to public consultation. Both of the above-mentioned topics are related to, or form a part of the agenda of the upcoming World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC 2015).
The working group includes a total of 54 participants from 26 countries, and representatives of the industry and international organizations. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is represented by Krunoslav Bejuk, a senior expert for satellite and microwave links, who participates in WGSE meetings as the vice-president of the group.
