Preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15)
NEWS
HAKOM once again includes the public in the preparation for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15). The public consultation will be open until 12:00 noon, October 9, 2015 and all interested parties are invited to participate.
ZAGREB, September 24, 2015 – The World Radiocommunications Conference - WRC-15, deciding on the future use of the radio spectrum for certain services at the global and regional level will take place in November 2015. The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations - CEPT is one of six regional organizations related to radio communications which is preparing common European positions (European Common Proposal - ECP). By participating in the working groups the Republic of Croatia as a CEPT member is involved in creation of the European Common Proposal and it can join the already adopted proposal or it can operate independently and present its point of view.
Common positions refer to some preciously agreed agenda items from different areas of radio communications. In order to strengthen the position of certain regional organizations, facilitate negotiations at a global level and to make the results more certain, it is crucial to have a harmonized approach within particular regional organizations.
Since the WRC results must be incorporated into the national regulations and in order to have a significant impact on the future way of managing and usage of radio frequency spectrum as well as the development of wireless technologies and services, Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is launching public consultation with the interested public on the last 16 agreed positions (ECP-s) for WRC 2015 in order to collect public opinion on the proposals. After the end of the public hearing it will be decided on the support of the Croatian for some ECP's.
Public Consultation will be closed from 12:00 noon on October 9, 2015 and all interested parties are invited to participate.
