Zagreb, September 11, 2015 The Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications (RTR) organized the third meeting of BEREC Expert Working Group for 2015 which was held in Baden (Austria ) on 10th and 11
th September. The main objective of the meeting is to prepare the 24
th BEREC regular Plenary Meeting which will be held from 30 September to 2 October2015 in Riga (Latvia). It is expected that topics that will be in the focus of the next plenary meeting will be discussed within the Contact Group, such as BEREC Annual Work Programme 2016 as well as the activity programme in each BEREC Expert Working Group whose final versions will be discussed at the Plenary Meeting.
In addition to the BEREC 2016 Annual Work Programme, to be presented at the plenary meeting in order to be approved for the public hearing, we would single out two documents in whose preparation HAKOM’S experts are actively participating. The first document refers to BEREC response to the European Commission questionnaire on regulatory framework for audit procedure aimed at preparation and adoption of documents including the BEREC response to the EK questionnaire. The second refers to BEREC report on OTT services and due to the growing influence of OTT service providers on the market, the document which does not give a direct response to the inquiry whether OTT services should be regulated or not, has been prepared as well and should only single out the problems that regulators are facing with in the current regulatory environment. The document will be forwarded to the Plenary Meeting of BEREC in order to be approved for public hearing.
The topics regarding the workshop which will be held at the Plenary Meeting in Riga were discussed as well. Some regulators will present the transition to new technologies (IP migrations). Since, this process is in final phase in the Republic of Croatia, HAKOM’s representatives will present how this migration was performed in Croatia.
At the Plenary Meeting HAKOM was represented by Mr. Marko Čavlović, Deputy Director and Mr. Igor Francetić, Market Analysis Expert.
