HAKOM at the Meetings of the Working Group on Telecommunications of the EU Council and the Committee for the Radio Frequency Spectrum

In Brussels, the 52nd meeting of the Radio Spectrum Committee (RSC) dealing with the operational decisions related to the radio frequency spectrum management in the European Union and the meeting of the Working Group on Telecommunications of the EU Council were held.
ZAGREB, July 17, 2015 - In Brussels, the 52nd meeting of the Radio Spectrum Committee (RSC), dealing with the operational decisions related to the radio frequency spectrum management in the European Union and the meeting of the working group on Telecommunications and Information of the EU Council were held. This working group, inter alia, adopts the decisions of the European Commission related to the radio frequency spectrum management in the EU.
The most important topics of the meeting were the discussion regarding the decision on the harmonized use of unpaired RF spectrum ranging from 1900-1920MHz and 2010-2025MHz, the preparation of the decision on 2.3GHz radio frequency band for broadband Internet access, as well as the preparation study for the 2.7-2.9 GHz band usage for wireless video systems (camera and video transmission links).
In addition to it, the meeting of the working group on Telecommunications of the EU Council was held in Brussels. The topic of the meeting was the discussion regarding the Council’s decision, expressing the opinions of the European Union for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference WRC-15. The most important topics of the decision are related to the allocation of additional frequency bands for broadband Internet, the future of the UHF band and the second digital dividend, as well as the achievement of common positions regarding the development of the European communication system. World Radiocommunication Conference WRC-15 deciding on the future usage of the radio frequency spectrum for particular services at the global and regional level will be held in November 2015.
