The European Commission Confirmed HAKOM’s Decision Regarding the Broadband Retail Market

NEWS

HAKOM deregulated the broadband retail market, however, regulating the wholesale markets HAKOM keeps monitoring the retail prices of HT ,Iskon and Optima.

ZAGREB, July 14, 2015 -The European Commission has confirmed three HAKOM’s decisions regarding the market analysis for broadband access. As a result, for HT, as well as the companies under its control Iskon and Optima, there will be no more regulatory requirements on the Broadband retail market and TV programme transmission market This means that the operators no longer have a number and duration of promotional offers per year.
However, HAKOM will continue to monitor whether their retail prices pass the margin squeeze test, either alone or bundled with other services. The European Commission had no objections to HAKOM’s proposal according to which ,  by regulating the wholesale markets, HT and companies under its control, Iskon and Optima, are still obliged to submit to the regulator the retail prices of the above -mentioned services.
