ZAGREB, 10 June 2015 - In the organization of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in cooperation with the Gabonese Autorité de Regulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP), in Libervilleu in Gabon this week, the 15th  Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR15) was held involving over 500 participants, the representatives of national regulators, operators, state institutions and businessmen. Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Authorities  (HAKOM) was presented by Mr Dražen Lučić, President of the Council, who was also the  representative of Europe's panel discussion on new investment strategies in the electronic communications infrastructure. Mr. Lučić led the Panel discussion on the regulators’ role in spreading the services and applications through mobile communications networks.

Global Symposium for Regulators will be held under the slogan “Mind the Digital Gap”- regulatory incentives to achieve digital opportunities with the aim to explore the ways to ensure that all citizens can benefit from the social and economic environment brought about by the digital economy.
Multi-day panel discussions and thematic meetings of all stakeholders of the global telecommunication market should lay the foundations and provide guidance to the further market regulation and respond to the regulatory challenges of introducing new services and technologies.

HAKOM has a very noticeable role not only within BEREC and the European Commission Working Groups but within ITU, including GSR, as well.
However, the GSR annually brings together the leaders of international organizations from around the world involving the field of telecommunications regulation.
According to its reputation, the GSR has become an annual international event enabling the regulators to compare their views and exchange regulatory experience
