HAKOM at Conference on Global Cybersecurity

ZAGREB, 3 December 2013 – At the invitation by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, President of Council of HAKOM, Dražen Lučić, and Executive Director of HAKOM, Mario Weber, attended the global conference dedicated to co-operation in the area of cybersecurity ("Global Cybersecurity Cooperation: Challenges and Visions"), which was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 2 and 3 December.
Mr. Lučić took part in the panel discussion on global partnership to increase cybersecurity, while Mr. Weber presented the Croatian experience in the protection of children from abuse in electronic communications.
Conference participants included a number of ministers and high representatives of state institutions from all continents. In addition to the ITU and the Azerbaijani government, other co-organizers included the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, the European Parliament and the Interpol. The conclusions of this conference will be presented to the competent institutions of the ITU member states. It is expected that the vast majority of countries, including the Republic of Croatia, will intensify their efforts as well as international co-operation in this area.
