Workshop "CEF2 - Financial Instrument for Investing in the EU 2021-2027 Infrastructure Priorities"

The aim of the workshop was to inform operators, representatives of local self-government units, regional development agencies and state administration bodies about the new EU financial instruments for the next multiannual financial framework - "CEF2-Digital".

 
Zagreb, October 3, 2019 - Following the  invitation of the Croatian  Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) as the BCO Broadband Competence Office "CEF2,  Zagreb hosted the workshop entitled   on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Antunović Hotel.  The objective of the workshops held was to inform representatives by the operators, local self-government units, regional development agencies and public administration bodies about new EU financial instruments for the next MFF.
 
"Regulation establishing the Connecting Europe Facility for the period 2021-2027.”  (CEF2) “  is an EU instrument for financing growth, competitiveness and employment through infrastructure investments at the European level. CEF2 promotes synergy in the transport, energy and digital sectors, with a budget of € 3 billion for the digital sector for all EU Member States. "CEF2 Digital "will focus on projects contributing to the strategic goals identified by the Gigabit Society 2025 strategy." CEF2 Digital "aims to fund the deployment of 5G corridors and projects that will enable gigabit connectivity to major socio-economic drivers, continuation of WiFi4EU for local communities, and household coverage with high capacity electronic communications networks.

The introduction speech was held by Mr. Mislav Hebel, Member of the Council and Ms. Isane Aparicio Deputy Director of BCO Network Facility. The European Commission representative Mr. Rodolphe Wouters (DG Connect) introduced the CEF2 Digital programme. Mr. Hrvoje Hadžić, representative of Ericsson Nikola Tesla presented his best features, advantages and capabilities of 5G technology as a basis for transformation of industry and society. Ms. Maja Radišić Žuvanić from the Ministry of Economy made presentation regarding the previous experiences of projects carried out or still in the process of
implementation through the current 2014-2020 financial period and the CEF1 Regulation.
