Zagreb 4 May 2015. – Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) announced a public call for the allocation of the number 116 111 – Child Helpline. The number 116 111 for Child Helpline service helps children connecting them with the appropriate institutions. It provides an opportunity for children to express their concerns, talk about issues directly affecting them and to contact someone in an emergency situation.
Namely, it refers to the allocation of the number which is a part of 116xxx numbering range ,intended for the services of social value , that is, for the services with specific social sensitivity (harmonized European short code). The above mentioned range is a part of the European legislation aimed to achieve “harmonised numbers for harmonised services ” within the European Union, in other words to make service of social value available through the harmonised and easily recognizable telephone numbers in all EU member states. In that respect 5 numbers in 116xxx code intended for the specific services of social value have been reserved.
