The Representatives of the European Commission, the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport payed a Visit to HAKOM, for the first time

The aim of the visit was getting information regarding organizational structure, the methods of work and to clarify possible issues regarding the application of Regulation 1371/2007 on the rights and obligations of passengers in rail transport.
ZAGREB, 18 July 2019 - Representatives of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) payed a visit to HAKOM within the scope of all EU Member States and national executive agencies (NEBs) responsible for implementing the EU regulations about the passenger rights. The purpose of the visit wasunderstanding with the organizational structure, working methods, clarify possible questions about the application of Regulation 1371/2007 on passengers' rights and obligations in the rail traffic and further improving of communication between HAKOM and DG MOVE.
HAKOM's representatives presented their organizational structure, resolving complaints in accordance with Regulation 1371/2007 their scope and type, contribution to international organizations and cooperation with other NEB representatives, communication and cooperation with the relevant ministry, infrastructure manager and railway companies and collecting statistical data. Particular emphasis was the implementation of Regulation 1371/2007, presentation of legal regulations and complaints handling procedures, inspections, accessibility of rail transport to persons with disabilities and people with reduced mobility, compliance with legal regulations, sanctions and brought decisions. HAKOM also presented a brochure for railroad users, having been developed in order to better implement Regulation (EC) No. 1371/2007 on passengers’ rights and obligations in rail transport in order to increase the awareness of users rights and obligations in the rail transport.
