Roundtable „Benefits of introducing 5G networks in Croatia"

The city of Opatija hosted the round table on the advantages of introducing the 5G network, possible application and impact on the economic growth.
  
Zagreb, May 22, 2019 - The Roundtable "Benefits of Introducing 5G Networks in the Republic of Croatia" in the 42nd International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics, MIPRO 2019 was held in Opatija. The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the benefits and stimulate development services and various applications of 5G technologies, as well as  some of the applications in various industries such as tourism, healthcare, education, transport and transportation and manufacturing industries, were presented by Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Nokia, Spectre, Silver Monitor and the Faculty of Traffic Sciences Zagreb. HAKOM had the role of panellists and moderators on this occasion.
 
The implementati0on of 5G technology in education and medicine was recognised as raising the quality of life in Croatia, while appliance in transportation system is important for raising security in transport , but also as a stimulus to other sectors of the economy, such as tourism. It was concluded that the introduction of the 5G network brought significant advantages to the development of the economy as well as the new possibilities of cooperation of different branches of the economy in order to create new products and services.
 
A special guest of the round table was Mr. Eric Gaudillat from the European Commission who presented some of the possibilities of financing 5G projects through CEF2 funds.
