ZAGREB, October 25, 2018 - The fourth Croatian Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held in Zagreb at the premises of Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a global initiative under the auspices of the UN with the idea of gathering all interested parties together to equally participate in discussions on the issues related to the Internet Governance. The initiative was launched in 2006 at the 'World Summit on Information Society' (WSIS) in Tunisia, as an open platform for discussions related to Internet-related issues. It was decided by the UN Secretary General, The motivation for this decision was the necessity to involve the wider community in the discussion on Internet Governance and regulation, since it showed that Internet-related topics are wider than IP address space, Internet protocols, and domains. Aside from state representatives, it was agreed to include other stakeholders such as representatives of civil society, academia, industry and private sectors. The Croatian national IGF was established in 2015 and  it has been recognized by the global IGF.

Within the scope of this year’s Forum, a panel discussion was held on "The Resistance of Democracy to Cyberattacks" as well as the "The Reform of the European Legal Frame of Rights" .The representative from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), Damir Sušanj  participated in the discussion of cyberattacks.
