HAKOM at the Meeting of the Electronic Communications Committee in Lisbon

The radio frequency spectrum for 5G technology at 26 GHz, the usage of L belts (1.5 GHZ) for mobile communications networks, IoT at 900 and 1800 MHz were the topics of the meeting of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC). In addition, it was discussed on preparation for the next World Radio Communication Conference (WRC-19) and co-operation with the European Commission and other international organizations.

ZAGREB, February 28, 2018 – The meeting of the Electronic Communications Committee began in Lisbon on February 27. (ECC) is an organization that deals with electronic communications policy in the European context taking into consideration the European and international legislation. At the meeting held on 2 March, the discussion topic was a radio frequency spectrum for 5G technology (possible interferences according to the meteorological radar at 26 GHz), bandwidth usage (1.5 GHz) for mobile communications networks, IoT at 900 i 1800 MHz, intelligent transport systems (ITS), preparations for the next World Radio communication Conference (WRC-19) and co-operation with the European Commission and other international organizations.
 
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the regulatory bodies of the Member Countries of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), international institutions and the telecommunications industry. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is represented at the meeting by Ivančica Head of the Radiocommunications Department.
