HAKOM at the 13th Plenary Meeting of the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP)

HAKOM participated in the ERGP’s 13th Plenary Meeting in Bonn and the Topic of the Meeting was Protection of the End Users and Promotion of Effective Competition in the EU Single Market.
ZAGREB, November 30, 2017 - Following the invitation of the organizer German Bundesnetzagentur - BnetzA (Federal Network Agency of Germany) the 13th plenary meeting of the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) was organized in Bonn from 28 to 30 November. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries was represented by Dražen Lučić, President of the Council at HAKOM and Marijan Bolarić, Council Member at HAKOM.
The most important topic of the meeting was the users’ protection and promotion of effective competition on the EU Single Market. Within the scope of the plenary meeting a visit was organized to the United Parcel Service (UPS) logistics centre in Europe situated at Cologne / Bonn airport. At the second day a workshop was opened for all stakeholders in the postal services market. Over a hundred participants took part in the workshop entitled "Strengthening the Postal Service Users' Position: New Development, Challenges and Solutions", who, in their presentations and debates, emphasised the importance of protection of postal service users and market development with new technical solutions. This workshop enabled all stakeholders in the postal service market to discuss current issues with the representatives of the European Commission and the regulatory bodies for the postal services of ERGP Member States.
