HAKOM at the FM44 Satellite Communications Meeting of the Project Team in Toulouse

The project team is responsible for preparing the regulatory framework and the organization of the use of the radio frequency spectrum allocated to the satellite service.
 
ZAGREB, 8 November 2017 - The 44th FM44 satellite communication project meeting was held in Toulouse, France, from 7 to 9 November. The FM44 satellite communications team is responsible for the preparation of the regulatory framework and the organization of the use of the radio spectrum  for satellite services within the framework of the  European Conference and Telecommunications Administration (CEPT) within the scope of the WGFM Working Group.
 
The most important topics of the meeting were the adoption of  harmonized regulatory framework for ground stations in ESIM- Earth Stations In Motion  that are using non-stationary satellite networks in the bandwidths of 10.7 - 12.75 GHz (s-Z) and 14.0 - 14.5 GHz (Z-s) and ESIM terminals used on ground vehicles using the  geostationary satellite networks in the bandwidths 10.7-12.75 GHz (s-Z) and 14.0 - 14.5 GHz (Z-s), production of M2M / IoT (Machine to Machine / Internet of Things) reports via satellites, drafting the report on the implementation of satellite technology in 5G networks, exploration of the common use of the 12.75 - 13.25 GHz bandwidth for microwave and terrestrial stations in satellite aircraft services as well as the  audit of  ECC Report 066 on the protection of radio equipment in aircrafts against the impact of ground stations in satellite services near the airports.
 
The meeting was attended by 26 representatives of the European regulatory bodies from the field of electronic communications, industry and international organizations. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries  (HAKOM) was represented by Marijan Globan, Senior Microwave and Satellite Networks Expert at HAKOM.
