HAKOM at the Meeting of RMMS Working Group in Brussels

Brussels hosted the meeting of the European Commission Working Group on the topic of data collection on the railway market

 
ZAGREB, October 6, 2017 - A meeting of the RMMS (Rail Market Monitoring Scheme) working group was held in Brussels on Friday, 5 October 2017. The working Group is responsible for collecting data on the rail market. The meeting was attended by Nataša Oliva Prgeša, Senior Market Analysis Expert at the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Industries (HAKOM).
 
The Representatives of the European Commission presented the market results for 2015, first collected from TRAMOS base. The further steps in the development of the TRAMOS database were presented as well practical data and deadlines for data collection offered for 2016. In the afternoon part of the meeting, the topic which was discussed was the importance of auditing obligations of the Regulation EU 2015/1100 by the EU Member States within the scope of the railway market surveillance. In addition, the representatives of the UK regulatory body (Office for Rail and Road - ORR) presented LENNON ticketing and revenue databases. Eurostat, DG MOVE and the European Railway Agency (ERA) presented a data analysis on railway infrastructure statistics. At the end of the meeting, UIRR (Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport) presented "The Functioning of Railway Market " discussing the necessity for expanding the  RMMS report  by additional collecting the  data regarding the  rail locomotives  and train drivers.However the  latest developments and data were presented regarding  the rail market in the Member States.
